Following the deaths of two Israeli soldiers during an operation in southern Lebanon and the wounding of four other soldiers, the Israel Defense Forces have carried out attacks in this area.

The Israel Defense Forces announced that the two servicemen died as a result of an explosion in a building they had entered during a security-clearing operation.
