Fighting continues in Sistan and Baluchestan; “Six hours of gunfire at the top of Rask”
🔸Reports indicate a multi-hour clash between government forces and armed individuals in Rask County, along with the dispatch of troops and military equipment to the area on Friday, October 1.
🔸Tasnim News Agency, close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has confirmed the occurrence of an armed clash in one of the villages of Rask, describing the people on the side of the clash with the IRGC as members of a “terrorist group.”
🔸The agency has not provided details about the identity, number, or possible casualties of those involved, and has written that government forces are carrying out “clearing the area and assessing the situation.”
🔸Friday’s developments are the latest cases in a series of attacks and armed clashes in Sistan and Baluchestan over the past two weeks.
🔸The Haalvush news site, which covers news related to Baluch people in Iran, has reported that the clash began around 5:30 a.m. on Friday near the Bidlad and Shushgim villages, and lasted for at least six hours.
🔸According to this outlet, “more forces and equipment, including armored vehicles and a vehicle equipped with heavy weaponry, have been dispatched to the area, and during the operation, reconnaissance and suicide drones were also used.”
🔸Haalvush also reported that the sounds of gunfire and explosions were heard in the area. Radio Farda is not able to independently confirm these details.
