🔻FIFA has opened a disciplinary case against the Football Federation of Argentina, three players, and one of this team’s coaches, due to clashes that occurred in the 2026 World Cup final and the display of banners about the Falkland Islands.

🔹According to BBC Sport, last week, the governing body of world football appointed a disciplinary and ethics prosecutor to review incidents after the final whistle at the New York New Jersey Stadium, where several players and members of Argentina’s coaching staff, after a one-goal defeat to Spain in July, got into altercations with players from Spain.

🔹On the recommendation of this prosecutor, FIFA will put Nahuel Molina (two counts), Leandro Paredes (three counts), and Roberto Ayala, coach of the Argentina national team (one count), under investigation on charges of assault, under Article 14 of FIFA’s Disciplinary Regulations.

🔹Molina may also face a disciplinary measure due to one count of unsporting behavior, under Article 14 of the same regulations.

🔹Thiago Almada, his teammate, and Gavi, the midfielder of Spain’s national team, have also been accused of violating the same article.
