🔺 Electricity in Iran will become more expensive as the fuel cost of power plants is added to utility bills
◾ From the beginning of Aban, electricity bills for rs in Iran also include the cost of fuel for power plants.
◾ The spokesperson for the power industry said that changes in the fuel rates for power plants affect the electricity’s total cost and, for that reason, fuel costs are included on the bills.
◾ In the meantime, Ehsan Zabiḩzadeh claimed that “we did not have any increase in electricity prices” and noted that electricity bills increase once a year. He added that this cost is determined by a working group with representatives from the ministries of Energy, Oil, and Economic Affairs and Finance, as well as the Organization for Planning and Budget.
◾ No figure or percentage has been announced for the amount of the bill increase.
