Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said that Russia provides the Islamic Republic very little help compared to its capabilities, and that he wants this situation to be maintained.

Trump also added that he does not intend to harm the process of negotiations by taking actions that would keep Moscow away from his Ukraine peace talks table.

On Sunday, 26 Mehr, Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social that major progress has been made in negotiations to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, and that this progress includes ongoing talks about hostages.

The U.S. president emphasized: “Perhaps most importantly, Russia provides the Iranian Islamic Republic with very little help compared to what it can do, if it helps at all. I want to maintain this situation, and I will do so as well, unless fools get in the way.”

Defending his decision not to sign a document related to Russia, he said that signing it in the current circumstances could take Moscow away from the negotiating table, and added that whenever he wants, he can sign the document.
