🔸While speculation about the possibility of further U.S. attacks on Iran has intensified, the German chancellor called for pursuing a diplomatic solution to end this dispute.
🔸Friedrich Merz said on Friday, the eighth of Aban, at the end of his trip to South Korea: “I can only tell all the parties involved: this dispute has no military solution.”
🔸He added that Germany and its partners are coordinating through various channels and stepping up diplomatic efforts to end the confrontation as quickly as possible.
🔸Merz emphasized that Germany has serious economic interests in the end of this crisis and noted that the increase in energy prices so far has imposed costs of more than €100 billion ($115 billion) on Europe.
🔸Merz’s remarks came shortly after U.S. media reported that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, held an unusual and in-person meeting with one of the senior military commanders to discuss next steps in the war with Iran.
