Donald Trump, the president of the United States, announced that the United States has “full control” of the Strait of Hormuz and that Iran is no longer the dominant power in the Middle East.

According to Fox News, after his trip to Geneva and in the U.S. state of Ohio for the participation in the ceremony “Patriot Games Freedom 250,” Trump told reporters: “The Iran matter is going well. It’s going very well. We have full control of the Strait of Hormuz. No one else—just us.”

He added: “Our navy is exceptional, and things are going great for our country.”

Asked about whether he trusts Iran, Trump said: “I don’t trust Iran. I’m the last person to trust them. They’ve been lying to me constantly.”

He also said: “We now have full control of the Strait of Hormuz. They have no control. And maybe at some point they’ll do something, and then they will be destroyed.”

Trump added: “But for now we’re in a very good position. We’re dealing with a country that’s been a bully in the Middle East for about 50 years.”
