The coasts of several Iranian islands, including Qeshm Island, have been hit by oil slicks and widespread pollution following the explosions of a number of oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
In images that have been released, layers of oil on the surface of the water and parts of the coastal strip can be seen. Reports have described this pollution as the result of an oil leak from the damaged oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
