The Director General of Environmental Protection in Mazandaran Province, pointing to the effects of climate change on the Caspian Sea, said it has reported an unprecedented drop in its water level.

On Thursday, 22 Mordad 1405, Young Journalists Club, citing Mohammadreza Kanaani, wrote: "Over the past two decades, the temperature of the Caspian Sea has increased by about one and a half degrees, and this has increased evaporation by between 10 and 15 percent."
