🔶 Despite the start of U.S. air sanctions, a Mahan Airlines flight landed in Guangzhou, China

Based on flight-tracking data from the FlightRadar24 website, a Mahan Airlines flight that had departed from Tehran landed in the city of Guangzhou in China.

The flight took place on September 23 (1 Mehr), at a time when Washington had previously threatened that on that day it would stop the activities of Iranian airlines and would punish any company or country that does business with Iranian airlines.

Earlier, Scott Bessent, U.S. Treasury Secretary, had warned with the announcement of this sanctions plan that any country that provides ground services for Iranian aircraft would be “removed from the dollar system.”

Despite this, checks indicate that the flight was not listed on the official website of the Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou.

At the same time, the website of an airport known as “Imam Khomeini Airport” in Tehran also shows that some foreign flights to several other destinations, including Najaf, Izmir, and Istanbul, are still operating.
