🔻David Peadieu, the U.S. ambassador in China, told CNBC that Donald Trump, in a conversation with China’s president at the White House, clearly told Xi Jinping that China’s support for Iran is not acceptable to the United States.
Mr. Trump hosted an elaborate official banquet at the White House last night.
He described Mr. Xi and his wife as “extraordinary” and “respectful” people, and said the two countries have “different systems,” but that relations between the two countries are now better than at any other time.
Xi Jinping also said that China’s peaceful rise does not mean the decline of the United States.
However, observers have doubts as to whether the meeting will produce an impact on sensitive issues such as artificial intelligence, Russia, and Iran.
