China-US trade talks

Chinese and US economic and trade delegations began a new round of consultations in New York on Sunday.

Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The two officials shook hands before the meeting began.

The two sides are expected to discuss trade and broader economic issues, with artificial intelligence and critical minerals among the key topics drawing attention.
