🔻Cancellation and postponement of major international events in Saudi Arabia

🔻After the Houthi attacks on major airports, major international events in Saudi Arabia are being canceled or postponed one after another, or moved to online space.

The Riyadh International Airport has been declared closed until Saturday.

◾ The match between Al Ahli and Al Nassr (the team of Ronaldo), which was scheduled to be held tomorrow in the Saudi Pro League, has been postponed.

◾ The Six Kings tennis tournament, which was scheduled to be held next week and in which Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz were set to participate, has been moved to December.

◾ The annual major investment conference in Saudi Arabia, known as “Davos of the Desert,” will be held in a combined format in about two weeks. It is expected that prominent guests will participate remotely and virtually. According to AFP, alternative air and land routes have been considered for bringing guests to Riyadh.

◾ The World Oil Congress, which ends on Thursday, was held without the presence of top-level oil industry executives.

Heavy security measures are in place in Saudi Arabia, while Yemen’s Houthis say they have again targeted the Riyadh International Airport with a ballistic missile.
