🔻Saudi Arabia is trying to hold the annual “Davos in the Desert” investment conference in Riyadh despite Houthi attacks.

Diplomatic sources told Agence France-Presse that organizers may attend the meeting virtually. In addition, alternative air and ground routes for traveling to Riyadh have been considered.

In recent weeks, attacks by Yemen’s Houthi forces on airports and Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities have led to the cancellation of many flights.

Saudi Arabia’s “Future Investment Initiative” Institute hosts an annual forum titled “Davos in the Desert,” which usually brings together foreign leaders and prominent figures from the business world. This year, the forum is set to be held in Riyadh from October 26 to 29.

Diplomatic sources said organizers have contacted embassies and foreign companies to examine combined/hybrid hosting options, in order to prevent the event from being canceled.
