Canadian poet and writer Anne Carson won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature. The Swedish Academy announced that the prize was awarded to Carson in recognition of her bold and innovative works; works that, by drawing on classical tradition, have created new forms in contemporary literature.
Carson, born in 1950 in Toronto, is a poet, writer, translator, and professor of classical Greek literature, and her works are known for crossing the boundaries between poetry, fiction, and research.
