🔶 Britain limits the activities of five Iranian banks

Britain, in alignment with the campaign of economic pressure by the United States against the Islamic Republic and Washington’s efforts to “economically isolate” Tehran, has tightened the conditions for issuing licenses for Iranian banks.

In line with its new approach, the UK Treasury has said that the current general license for limited activities of these banks will not be extended after its validity ends next month.

Based on the new measures and decisions taken by the UK Treasury, new license requests from sanctioned Iranian banks operating in this country are, by default, rejected. Bank Sepah, Bank Melli Iran in the UK, Bank Saderat, Persian International Bank, and Bank Tejarat are among the banks covered by these actions.
