As Paris prepares for protests on Saturday, Second of Aban, police and army forces have been deployed in the city’s streets, and shops have boarded up their storefronts in response to possible unrest.
Laurent Nuñez, France’s Minister of the Interior, said: “Seventy thousand police forces across the country will be deployed to ensure the security of the demonstrations.”
This move is intended to prevent the recurrence of the violence and looting that shocked France last weekend.
