Amirhossein Mirasmayili, a journalist, said that the intensifying Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia could change Donald Trump’s calculations about the timing and manner of his response to the Islamic Republic and its proxy forces.

He added that the Islamic Republic, by using proxy groups, is trying to increase the costs of any possible attack for the United States, Israel, and regional countries, but this strategy could backfire. According to Mirasmayili, regional countries’ support for Riyadh—from Qatar and Turkey to the UAE and Egypt—signals the Islamic Republic’s growing isolation and a new opportunity for the United States and Israel.
