Amirhosein Mirasmaeili, a journalist, said that disagreement between the current supporting a deal with the United States and the spectrum close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has placed the Islamic Republic in a risky position. He added that while some officials talk about negotiations and easing economic pressures, others increase the danger of the war being resumed by threatening the United States.

He also said that the Islamic Republic is facing an “economic clock” and the United States is facing a “political clock.” According to Mirasmaeili, the escalation of the livelihood crisis, fuel shortages, and an increase in protests have put more pressure on the Islamic Republic, while the Trump administration will also face constraints from domestic politics as it approaches the midterm elections.
