🔶 German army: The risk of Russian attacks on military facilities is very serious

According to a report by West German Radio and Television (WDR) and the Süddeutsche Zeitung, and based on an internal assessment by Germany’s armed forces, the risk of Russian attacks on military facilities in Germany is very serious.

The two outlets reported that, after several security incidents, level two of the highest security alert level was announced.

An attempt at sabotage at Leipzig/Halle Airport and the discovery of a drone at the Wunstorf air base in the state of Lower Saxony are among these incidents.

The German armed forces believe that the security situation is likely to worsen. Based on the assessment of intelligence institutions, further measures of this kind are expected to occur in the near future.

Friedrich Merz, the Chancellor of Germany, also warned again about Russian actions. At a ceremony in Berlin, he said that Moscow is seeking to fundamentally disrupt the political order governing Europe.
