🔻Ali Zeynivand, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, at today’s press conference about the 10-kilometer Tehran Marathon, said: “This two-race should not have been held simultaneously with the ‘Janfa’da exercise. Any gathering and event must take place according to the country’s laws and customs.”

🔹He, while referring to the cancellation of the Mahan Marathon in Kerman, said: “Instead of making it rule-based, it is not right to stop it and take the matter off the agenda. It has also happened in other provinces; for example, Kerman and last year in Bushehr. If there is any sensitivity somewhere, the necessary separation should be carried out, and the scheduling should change. The Friday prayer leader, the governor, Intelligence, and the Judiciary should not each have their own say.”

🔹On Friday, 27 Shahrivar 1405, the 10-kilometer marathon was held simultaneously with the government ceremony “Janfa’da exercise” in the south-west of Tehran. A notable point was the presence of women without mandatory hijab in this race.

🔹Following this marathon, the media center of the Islamic Republic’s Judiciary said that the Tehran prosecutor’s office has filed charges against the organizers and those involved in holding the event due to “not observing the legal and religious standards,” and that a judicial case has been opened for them.
