How drone tech helps predict forest fires

One way to predict how forest fires might behave is to create a digital twin and run computer simulations.

A team from Hungary's Sopron University is doing just that by sending a drone equipped with specialized cameras and a LiDAR scanner above the Sopron Mountains – and back at the lab they'll set fire to their simulated forest, again and again, to see what happens and what they can learn.
