Aidin Pahnahi, an energy expert and one of the authors of the “Iran Prosperity Project,” said that this is the first month since the start of the war in which the Islamic Republic has not loaded and exported even a single barrel of crude oil, and that the only remaining income is from oil that had already been on the water.

He added that, once the oil on the water runs out, with the money from previous cargoes coming to a stop and a gas and budget crisis nearing in the autumn and winter, pressure on Tehran’s economy and foreign-currency resources will increase. According to Pahnahi, while the crude oil exports of the countries in the region have returned to pre-war levels, the global market is still facing shortages of products such as diesel fuel and aviation fuel.
