🔸Following the U.S. president’s announcement that he rejected Tehran’s new proposal in talks with reporters, Iran’s foreign minister said that the intermediaries have not yet conveyed anything on this to the Iranian government.
🔸Donald Trump, the U.S. president, on Saturday, the fourth of Mehr, confirmed that the proposal by the Islamic Republic of Iran to immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz was rejected.
🔸Abbas Araqchi, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, had previously told reporters at the United Nations headquarters in New York that Iran, through Qatar, presented the United States with a specific “seven-day plan,” and that if the conditions demanded by Tehran are met, the Strait of Hormuz could be reopened, with normal maritime traffic resumed within seven days.
🔸The Iranian official, after the news of the proposal being rejected by the U.S. president, pointed out that “nothing has yet been conveyed to us by the intermediaries,” adding: “We are waiting for the definitive views to be conveyed to us by the intermediaries, and a decision will be made based on that.”
