I examined various options regarding Iran with Trump, including negotiating with it in order to reach a broader agreement.

Among the options I discussed with Trump were the continuation of a tight blockade of the Strait of Hormuz or carrying out military actions.

I have not misled anyone, and no one dictates to Trump what he should do.

It was not predictable to what extent Iran could turn trade through the Strait of Hormuz into leverage or a weapon.
