Based on a report by Syria’s official news agency and the country’s Ministry of Health, at least 2 people were killed and 13 others were injured following the explosion of a planted bomb in a passenger car in the city of Jaramana, located southeast of Damascus.

The explosion occurred on Al-Rawda Street in a busy time period and caused heavy damage to the vehicle. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Because Jaramana’s population is largely Druze and Christian, it has always been one of the main targets of attacks by terrorist groups such as ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra.

In addition, the Druze community’s efforts to maintain local autonomy and neutrality in the civil war have repeatedly led to armed clashes between Druze militias and opposition groups and even government forces over issues such as providing security and controlling the area.
