🔺 10 European countries have been brought under France’s nuclear deterrence against Russia
▪ The Wall Street Journal wrote that, by expanding its role as a nuclear power, France is bringing 10 European countries within the scope of its deterrence plan.
▪ Emmanuel Macron has called the plan “forward deterrence.” The plan provides for the deployment of French Rafale fighter jets with nuclear capability across Europe, and the building of infrastructure, communications, early warning, and information-exchange links with allies.
▪ The partner countries are the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Greece, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. The three Baltic countries, which are more vulnerable, are not on the list, and Italy has not been accepted to be on this list.
