U.S. Southern Command “Southcom” announced that American forces, as part of ongoing disaster relief operations for Venezuela’s earthquake victims, will cooperate with forces of this country to manage airport operations and move humanitarian equipment and aid faster. According to Southcom, this cooperation has helped unblock logistical bottlenecks and accelerate the delivery of heavy equipment, vital aid, and relief forces to the affected areas. The U.S. Army emphasized that this mission, led by the U.S. Department of State, is purely humanitarian in nature, and that after the relief operation ends, American forces will leave Venezuela.
