Qatar Ports Management Company says this country hosted 160 vessels in September last month, indicating a 20% increase compared with the previous month.

According to the report, more than 54,000 standard containers were handled over the past month, representing a 10% increase compared with August: “Around 40,000 tons of general cargo, more than 17,000 tons of bulk cargo, and 33 vehicles and heavy equipment were unloaded and loaded at the ports.”

The report does not mention the status of port activity in the period before the war, but Qatar’s official figures show that last September the country’s ports were host to 231 vessels and handled nearly 125,000 containers.

Since March this year, the Islamic Republic has disrupted port activity in Arab countries in the region by attacking ships in its southern waters.
