🗣Your account: Life under political repression and military tensions — Friday, 20 Shahrivar

🔹I’m 34. Due to the severe traumas of Dey 18 and Dey 19 and seeing my close friend get shot at a distance of half a meter, according to my doctor, I have PTSD and acute depression. My medication costs 7.6 million tomans, and I’m unemployed. Sometimes a branch of a whirlwind breaks too, but the storm ends.

🔹I’m police force personnel, with a salary of 20 million and 7 years of service. Our wages don’t cover things; not even by mid-month. Even if we protest, we get fired.

🔹I was a clerk at one of the aviation handling companies for 17 years. They laid off about 800 people since the start of the war. For six months, they didn’t give unemployment insurance, nor severance. They also keep promising to bring me back to work. I’m left with all these installments and expenses. May God curse you.

🔹Today is 20 Shahrivar. I’m in Chaharbagh, Shahrak-e Abrisham. I still haven’t registered my child at school, because I don’t have money for help for a public school, uniforms, and school supplies. But I heard they don’t take these costs from the Basij members; why?

🔹I’m an employee from Kermanshah province with 26 years of work experience. By God, I went to collect scrap to get my car’s engine oil changed and sold it—I was even very embarrassed about it.

🔹I’m a worker. Previously I used to get paid, but the payment didn’t even reach by the tenth. Now my wife has a job, and we’re getting two salaries, but even then it still doesn’t reach by the tenth.

🔹At the moment, the government’s TV is only covering the Houthis’ attacks under the name of a victory by the armed forces in Yemen. It doesn’t even mention the defeat of Hezbollah and their being buried alive, because support for Palestine right now takes courage that they don’t have.

🔹Things have gotten to the point that the Islamic Republic isn’t thinking about people. Saipa keeps reneging on promises; oil has become a million; enough—I'm fed up. I won’t kill myself. Rent, and a thousand other miseries—enough, Islamic Republic, enough. A bunch of “value-based” people poured money in the street. Let someone say, Basiji, what can you do with the dollar at 240 tomans?

🔹A portion of the electricity in Ahvaz has been cut since 1 o’clock. We called; they said it would be connected at 3. Now it’s 3:21. The electricity hasn’t come, and when we call again, they say the number is wrong. Come on—collapse already. You’ve worn us out. What hope did you take power with?

🔹From Andimeshk: The government, through repeated price hikes, has proven that it can’t supply the means to run the country. Mojtaba Khamenei is not right, and the people of Iran don’t accept it.
