Islamic Republic security institutions, continuing the policy of crackdown and intimidation against petitioners, have significantly increased their pressures and interrogations of the families of the “Jaaviden-aman” (martyrs) in various cities.

According to reports received by Iran International, in recent days, a number of members of families of those killed in national protest movements have been summoned via phone calls or directly threatened by government agencies.

Reports indicate that, during these sessions, security interrogators—by referring to the publication of posts, videos, and photographs of their loved ones who were killed—have threatened them. In addition, security forces involved in these interrogations have expressed serious fear and intense anger over the growing spread of the “Jaaviden-aman” hashtag on social media.

In addition to summonses and in-person and phone interrogations, the digital activities of petitioners’ families have also been targeted for restriction; as a result, some of these families have even been threatened by security institutions for liking or commenting (commenting) on social media pages, including on Instagram, and to date, the personal pages of a number of them have been blocked by the government or taken offline.
