🔶 Ban on Britain’s Trade with Israeli Settlements in the West Bank and a Warning from the United States

The UK government intends to formally announce a ban on trade in goods produced in Israeli settlements located in the West Bank. The move comes amid a clear warning from the U.S. ambassador to Israel about the possibility of retaliatory measures and severe economic consequences for British companies.

Pat McFadden, the UK’s Minister for Pensions, on Tuesday, September 8, confirmed that the country’s foreign secretary will present a statement to parliament on the matter. Speaking with Times Radio about how the ban would be implemented, he said: “The main thrust of today’s statement is that, like many other countries, the UK does not want to see the possibility of a two-state solution in Israel and the Palestinian region destroyed.”

In response to the decision, Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, told BBC News that the announcement of the ban by London will undoubtedly face a reaction from the United States, and that these reactions could also be applied at the level of separate states.
