South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, condemned the recent attacks by Iran-backed Houthi rebels on civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia that led to the killing and wounding of a number of civilians.
South Korea called attacks on civilians and actions that undermine freedom of navigation unjustifiable, and urged the Houthi rebels to immediately end these attacks.
The South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stressed that peace and stability in the Middle East, including ensuring free and safe navigation in the Red Sea, is of critical importance for the international community in terms of global supply chains and energy security.
