Ahmadreza Radan, the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Republic’s police, said that more than six thousand people were arrested in connection with the protests of Dey 1404. He called these protests a “coup d’état.”
Radan said on Sunday evening, 22 Shahrivar, in an interview with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s state TV (IRIB) that three other people were also arrested overnight in one of the provinces of Iran, but he did not name these individuals or state where they were detained.
He said: “If someone wants to sell out the homeland and create insecurity in the country, we will see him as an enemy and deal with him firmly.”
The commander-in-chief of the Islamic Republic’s police also said: “We have 30 million whose lives are our sacrifices, who will be present in the field before anyone even wants to.” He added: “Our finger is on the trigger like the finger of our dear ones in the IRGC and Basij.”
