🔸Iranian media reported on Monday, 23 Shahrivar, about the “assassination” of Molavi Yusuf Gergij, a Sunni cleric and a Baluch from Zahedan, and said he was killed in front of his home.

🔸These media outlets did not provide any details in this regard, and no individual or group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

🔸While Iranian media referred to Molavi Yusuf Gergij as “one of the revolutionary clerics,” the Telegram channel “Halvosh,” which covers news from Sistan and Baluchestan, wrote that the cleric was “a figure close to the security apparatuses of the Islamic Republic.”

🔸Halvosh added that he was “targeted on Resalat Street 47 in Zahedan County by unknown armed individuals” and lost his life.

🔸In this report, Molavi Yusuf Gergij was described as someone who “attended meetings and programs related to the Islamic Republic, and in his positions and activities he mainly acted in support of the Islamic Republic’s policies and against protesters and government critics, and against Baluch and Sunni citizens.”
