🔶 Gradual reopening of Iran–Iraq borders
Iraqi media have reported the gradual reopening of the borders between Iran and Iraq.
The Iraqi official news agency (INA) on Sunday, September 13 (Shahrivar 22), citing the country’s security information authority, said that passenger travel through the Al-Shayb (Chazabeh) and Shalamcheh border crossings has resumed as of 6:00 a.m. today (Sunday).
According to the announcement by this body, travel and commercial activities at the Shalamcheh border will resume tomorrow, Monday, at 6:00 a.m.
In this regard, it was also announced that commercial activities at the Mandali (Soomar) crossing will resume at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, and commercial activities at the Chazabeh border will resume at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday.
The Iraqi security information authority noted that passenger transit and commercial activity with Iran at the Mehran (Zarbatiyeh) and Khosravi (Mandariyeh) borders have not been halted, and both crossings are open 24 hours a day.
