🔻Anthropic AI chief calls for slowing down the development of AI models and close monitoring of their development process.

In a note he published online, Dario Amodei wrote that the issue and problem are not the development of AI itself, but the related “serious” risks, and that companies and governments should have the opportunity to address those risks.

The executives of two rival AI companies, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, and Elon Musk, have also said they agree with Mr. Amodei.

In recent weeks, concerns about possible risks from this technology have increased. An AI researcher who left Anthropic told the BBC: “With progress [in AI] at this current pace, if we don’t slow down development of it, there’s a high likelihood that all of us will lose our lives in the near future.”

Jacob Coxson told Laura Koensberg that people working in AI companies are “really scared... really worried about the fate of humanity in the next two years.”
