🔻The Venice Film Festival hosted the world premiere screening of the latest, ambitious and controversial film by Alex Gibney, a renowned documentary filmmaker, about the world’s richest man; a film that took years to make.

Alex Gibney, the Oscar-winning director of “Taxi to the Dark Side” and “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room,” has made documentaries about some of the richest and most powerful people in the world. But none have been as rich and powerful as Elon Musk. Perhaps that is why his documentary about this technology entrepreneur and the head of SpaceX has such wide reach.

“Mask,” which was shown for the first time at the Venice Film Festival, is 225 minutes long and was screened with a 10-minute intermission, meaning nearly four hours about the life and work of the world’s richest man.

In the film, there is little that has not been reported before, but Gibney has assembled existing reports in a breathless and fast-paced narrative, painting an overwhelmingly negative image in an eerily apocalyptic style.
