🔻The sister of Javid Nameh Ahmad Khosrowani, the basketball player who was killed during the national revolution of Iranians in 1404, wrote in a post on the social network X that the Islamic Republic Basketball Federation has instructed all players who take the court wearing number 91 to change their jersey number.

🔹In the message she shared on X, she wrote: “The Islamic Republic Basketball Federation has warned all players wearing number 91—including the women’s team—that either they change their number or they will no longer be allowed to participate in federation competitions. How petty and helpless must you be to be afraid of a jersey number? You were afraid of my brother Ahmad Khosrowani’s name, and now you’re afraid of his jersey number too. Your power is so hollow that even ‘91’ has stolen sleep from your eyes.”

🔹Javid Nameh Ahmad Khosrowani was a 21-year-old basketball player from Tehran and a student at Sharif University of Technology. On 18 Dey 1404, during nationwide protests, he was killed as a result of a direct shot fired by security forces. Before that, he had won the championship title of the Tehran three-on-three basketball tournament with the Ferzan Shomiran team, and in 1404 he was selected as the best player in the Tehran league. His father is also a veteran of the Iran–Iraq War.
