🔸U.S. President Donald Trump dismissed reports that Iran gained access to satellite images of a military base in Jordan through Chinese entities before an attack that killed three American service members.
🔸On Sunday, 22 Shahrivar, in remarks to reporters aboard the presidential aircraft, when asked about raising the issue in a possible meeting with Xi Jinping, President of China, he did not give a direct response, but said: “They basically do the same thing we do. When they say China is spying on us, I say, yes, and we also spy on them.”
🔸The Wall Street Journal recently reported, citing unnamed U.S. officials, that Iran received its satellite images of the Al-Salt base from Chinese entities prior to the missile attack on 17 Shahrivar. Three American service members were killed in the attack.
🔸Reuters said it was unable to independently verify the report. According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. officials did not disclose the names of the Chinese entities providing the images and did not accuse Beijing of direct involvement.
