🔸China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, 23 Shahrivar, denied a report regarding assistance from Chinese institutions to Iran in order to target a U.S. base in Jordan.

🔸Reuters, citing China’s foreign ministry, wrote that “China firmly opposes these baseless allegations.”

🔸Recently, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing “unnamed U.S. officials,” that Iran had received its satellite images of the Al-Salt base in Jordan from Chinese institutions before the missile attack on 17 Shahrivar, which left three U.S. military personnel dead.

🔸According to The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. officials did not disclose the names of the Chinese institutions providing the images and did not accuse Beijing of direct involvement.

🔸U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday, 22 Shahrivar, played down reports about Iran’s access to satellite images of a military base in Jordan through Chinese institutions, before an attack that killed three U.S. military personnel.

🔸The U.S. and China are expected to have leaders meet on the second of Mehr in the United States, though Beijing has not yet officially confirmed the meeting.
