The social media platform X officially announced on Wednesday that it has suspended more than 13,000 accounts associated with three suspected foreign influence operations by Iran, Russia, and China.

According to X, these accounts operated with the goal of influencing political discussions in the United States and, through the coordinated posting and resharing of content, targeted election candidates and political figures from different political backgrounds.

X said its Safety team identified and suspended the accounts in the course of preventive reviews and identification investigations.
