The Venezuelan government announced on Tuesday, 20 Mordad, that it has reached an agreement with Israel to create a mechanism to coordinate and facilitate the provision of consular services to citizens of the two countries. This move is considered an important shift in Venezuela’s policy.

Caracas had severed relations with Israel since 2009.

The two countries have also agreed to continue their bilateral technical cooperation in the areas of assistance, dealing with emergency situations, and reconstruction after the two earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24.
