🔶 US stock index futures rise after inflation data milder than expected

According to Reuters, US stock index futures rose on Wednesday, September 30 (8 Mehr), as the release of inflation data milder than expected boosted hopes that the Federal Reserve may not raise interest rates anytime soon, including next month.

A report from the US Department of Commerce showed that the personal consumption expenditures price index (PCE) increased by 0.3% in August, while economists taking part in a Reuters poll had predicted a 0.4% rise. The annual rate of this index was also reported at 3.4%, versus an estimate of 3.7%.

Meanwhile, the core personal consumption expenditures price index, which excludes volatile items such as food and energy, showed a 0.2% increase compared with the previous month.

This figure is lower than the expected 0.3% increase. The annual rate of this index was also 3%, while forecasts had indicated 3.3%.
