US forces in the Middle East will be ready to launch large-scale strikes on Iran within 96 hours of an order from President Donald Trump, CNN reported, citing two US officials.

They stressed that the question is not whether the order will be given, but when. The officials believe it could happen before the end of the year, but most likely after the US midterm elections.
