🔸US Central Command of the United States Army, early on Wednesday 7 Mordad (Iran time), wrote in a post on the X network: “Today at 5:45 p.m. Eastern Time, Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces, in an attempt to carry out a surprise attack on American forces deployed in the Middle East, launched several ballistic missiles from Iran.”

🔸The message added: “All of Iran’s missiles were successfully intercepted. U.S. forces remain vigilant and at the highest level of readiness.”

🔸Earlier, the Axios website had reported that Iran on Tuesday fired several ballistic missiles toward a U.S. military base in Jordan.
