The US Central Command (CENTCOM) on the social media platform X rejected the claim made by the commander of the IRGC Navy that the Strait of Hormuz is under IRGC control and that any US Navy warship that comes close to the strait will be sunk.
CENTCOM wrote: “The IRGC Navy commander does not have forces under his command.”
In a statement, CENTCOM said: “American forces and their regional partners clearly have control of the Strait of Hormuz.”
CENTCOM added: “The American forces, just yesterday, on Monday, helped the Gulf states transport more than 19 million barrels of crude oil through this strait.”
