🔸Ukrainian officials said on Saturday that at least 37 people were killed in a nighttime attack by Russian drones on a storage facility near Kyiv that caused a large fire and major explosions.

🔸The attack early Saturday on the seventh of Shahrivar inflicted extensive damage on infrastructure in the surrounding area, including residential buildings and a care center for the elderly and people with disabilities.

🔸Ukrainian prosecutors said it appears the warehouse, located near the western outskirts of the capital, was used to store “explosive items.”

🔸Vladimir Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, said that the munitions caused these explosions.

🔸He wrote on the social media platform X: “Those who allowed this to happen must be held accountable for their decisions... Munitions cannot be stored near homes or other residential areas.”

🔸According to Zelensky, the explosion damaged nearby residential areas as well as a nursing home and a center for the elderly and people with disabilities.

🔸Reuters journalists observed a massive column of black smoke rising over the western outskirts of the capital, as authorities reported that hundreds of people had been evacuated from the area.
