UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization: Traffic in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb remains at a low level

According to the latest report from the UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization, commercial traffic in the Strait of Hormuz over the past 48 hours has continued to remain at a low level.

The organization said: “Independent tracking data indicates a sharp decrease in traffic, so that only a handful of vessels have been passing in both directions.”

The agency reported no attacks or confirmed disruptions, but added that the threat of attacks by Iran and “harassing actions” still…

According to the agency, “harassing actions” by Iran include drone flights, targeted monitoring of commercial vessels, and occasional radio contact.

According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization, these actions “still indicate Iran’s intention to establish its presence on vital shipping routes and maintain pressure on vessels transiting.”

Meanwhile, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization announced that commercial traffic in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, following the Saudi Arabia-led naval blockade by the Yemeni Houthi group on July 20, also remains flowing “at a low level.”
