🔻UEFA, after an emergency meeting in response to FIFA’s proposal to attract private investment in competitions including the World Cup, warned that it would boycott all FIFA competitions if Gianni Infantino carries out the plan.

🔹In a FIFA statement, it said: “We, unanimously and without any ambiguity, reject FIFA’s proposal to transfer part of the ownership of the World Cup and other competitions of this body to private investors.”

🔹UEFA also sharply wrote: “As a result of today’s discussions, as long as these proposals are on the table, no UEFA member national team will take part in any competition organized under FIFA, unless this plan is completely dropped and binding assurances are provided that FIFA will never again transfer ownership or the administration of its competitions to the private sector.”

🔹The first upcoming World Cup is the Women’s World Cup, to be held in Brazil next summer. After that, the Men’s World Cup 2030 will be hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Women’s World Cup qualification competitions begin in October.
